Height: 2′-4′ Spread: 2′-4′. Dwarf native shrub with a rounded compact habit is similar to A. canescens but blooms 2 to 4 weeks earlier and has greener foliage. Long slender spikes of small purple flowers are produced in June and July. Naturally found in Colorado to 7200′ so may be hardier than A. canescens which is found at 4000′. Drought tolerant. Full sun. Zone 4.
