Height: 20′-30′ Spread: 20′-30′. This small, flat-topped tree is one of the earliest trees to bloom in the spring, producing long-lasting, magenta-pink blooms on the bare stems before leaves appear in early April. Heart-shaped foliage changes to yellow in the fall. Needs a protected location. Though there is some difficulty in transplanting this tree, once the root system becomes established, it will perform well. Full sun to part shade. Zone 4.
