Height: 30′-40′ Spread: 20′-25′. The trees we offer are a hardy form, grown from seed collected near the summit of Mt. Cooke in New Mexico. A columnar conifer in youth becoming broad-spreading with age with glaucous-green to silvery-blue foliage. Female cones can be up to 1″ in diameter. The bark exfoliates in thin papery plates adding great interest to the plant as it matures, although not nearly as pronounced as in the species. A great addition to the cultivated conifers for our area. Full sun to part shade. (Protect from winter sun during establishment.) Zone 4.
