Height: 70′-90′ Spread: 25′-40′. This large, fast-growing deciduous conifer has finely textured, light green foliage emerging in the spring. Golden-yellow autumn foliage drops for the winter. The male cones are an attractive red in the spring. Broad pyramidal habit when young becoming irregular with age. Very cold hardy and seems tolerant of alkaline soils, but needs regular water. Forms impressive fragrant forests in Europe and is a magnificent specimen tree for parks or other large scale areas. Full sun. Zone 2.
