Height: 6″-12″ Spread: 15″-24″. A sprawling clump of slender, dark green leaves punctuated by large lemon-yellow, cupped flowers opening from red-spotted buds in early evening. Flowers are replaced by papery, winged seed pods. Completely disappears for the winter but returns as a strong, xeric plant in the late spring. Site in well-drained soil. Full sun. Zone 4.
