Height: 3′-5′ Spread: 3′-5′. Herbaceous shrub with downy silvery-green foliage. Bright blue-violet flower spikes appear August through September. Quite showy, especially when used in masses. Needs to be pruned back to live wood in early spring as stems generally winter kill. Tolerant of alkaline soils and dry conditions. Full sun. Zone 5.
