Height: 40′-50′ Spread: 40′-45′. Nearly as broad as tall, forming a broad open, round-topped crown. Oblong shaped acorn to 1″ that is a shiny light brown in color. Bark is flaky, grayish brown developing into rugged handsome old trunks. Oblong lobed leaves 5″-8″ in length, deep green above, whitish and velvety beneath. Our observations indicate seed source may influence the ability of this plant to tolerate alkaline soils. Full sun. Zone 4.
