Height: 5′-6′ Spread: 3′-4′. An upright selection of black currant with a sweeter flavor than the species. White flowers in May followed by purple-black currants that ripen in July to August. Versatile culinary and medicinal plant used across Europe for teas, liquors, scent for soaps and a sore throat remedy, as well as for jams and dried fruit. Prefers well-drained soils. Leaves will sunburn in full sun. Part shade. Zone 4.
