Height: 5′-8′ Spread: 5′-8′. This very popular lilac has small, wavy, dark green leaves and fragrant lavender flowers. Blooms well at an early age on this full, evenly-shaped plant. This lilac is only known as a cultivated plant and has never been found in the wild, which leads some experts to believe it is a hybrid. It was discovered in gardens near Beijing, China by the famous plant explorer, Frank N. Meyer in 1909. It is excellent as a foundation or border plant, alone or in masses. Full sun. Zone 3.
