Height: 6′-10′ Spread: 5′-8′. A hybrid developed in Prague in the 1950’s between V. rhytidophyllum and V. utile and much hardier than either parent. Has survived testing at the University of Illinois and at Denver Botanic Gardens. Will maintain its glossy, dark-green, 2″ to 4″ long leaves in mild winters like its “half sister” the Alleghany Viburnum. The flower buds are pink opening to white and are slightly fragrant. Dirr considers it a good plant for the future. An unlabled specimen is located just east of the library at DBG along the sidewalk. Full sun to part shade. Zone 5.
